I whole-heartedly believe in science-based force-free methods because I believe we can do better for our animals. There is a shift in the dog training world when it comes to types of methods being used and any that inflict pain on the animal, whether physical or emotional, are thankfully starting to get called out and pushed out.

Don’t wait until your dog “gets it wrong” to correct them, show them what they are doing right and reward them for doing the “right thing”. Force-free training sets your dog up to succeed and eliminates the need to use any sort of aversives.

The American Veterinary Society on Animal Behaviour in their recent Position Statement on Humane Dog Training explains that “research supports the efficacy of reward-based training to address unwanted and challenging behaviours. There is no evidence that aversive training is necessary for dog training or behavior modification”.
